Once upon a time, in the land of grieves there was a lady with 2 dimples, only and just one lady with these dimples. In that land, women dressed black and men grey, the houses were made with brown mud and on a cloudy day, everything seemed black and white. In spring when there was sun and colorful flowers, people locked themselves indoors preferring living in nostalgia... what a weird society it was!
The lady with the dimples was famous with her beauty, other women wished they had dimples like her's. Some new born babies were finger pressed on their cheeks so that they be like her but there was no use!
One day, the chieftain of the territory died and there was a big funeral where everybody was required to attend "mourning". Lady with the dimples sat in a corner, wherever she goes, she always had attention. The women were surprised at her look! She did not look as pretty as before, and most shockingly, her dimples were not showing!
The little girls gathered around her, as usual, and one of them asked her "Miss dimples, what happened to your dimples, where are they? She asked. "The dimples are still there sweetie" the lady replied. "But we can't see them"! said the little girl.
"The dimples are there, the smile is not there, cheek dimples fully show when there is a smile, I am not required to smile in a funeral" the lady replied.
In seconds, she was surrounded by other women, listening to her attentively. "But when I smile, no dimples show" a teenage girl said. "I'm sure they do, maybe not in the center of your cheeks, they might show in your forehead, around your eyes or even between your nose and lips... try smiling, you will see how beautiful you get"! the lady replied.
After the funeral, the women had some talks between them, they actually tried wearing the smile and they saw the change! They so the extra ordinary change in their looks! But then, they started grumble and murmuring to the lady " Alright, you were right, smiling makes one look pretty, but how can we smile all the time? there is nothing to smile for" said the women in black. "I think there is, smile when you see your kids in the morning, smile when your husband is back from work, smile when there is spring, smile when you see colors other than black, be colorful and smile! Smile when you pray and know you have a listener, smile now that you know it makes you beautiful, smile now that you are alive, smile now that you know that grieving has no use, that mourning is a habit found in no happy nation... if I go on, it will take me to tomorrow" the lady replied smiling.
In the end, it appeared out that everybody had dimples, it was just the smile that they did not have. Everybody could be beautiful, they just did not know how.
